My 2020 Plans and What I’m Doing?

Why Hello! It’s been a while, but I am hoping to start this up on my time off from work! I’ve been busy living life and making a bunch of YouTube content, so if you’ve missed me you can check me out here . Anyway, here are my plans for the new decade and year.

I’ve recently started a reading challenge based on monopoly called Romanceopoly (the link is here ) and there a few creators that are doing it this year and I figured “Why not?!” so I started by printing out the board, the tracker and both sets of cards, as I did set my reading goal to 100 books this year. I’ve already DNF’d three books (DNF = Did Not Finish) that I had chosen for the squares I had gotten. So, right now I’m just focusing on finishing the WINTER square’s book, which I chose Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor, it is the first book in the trilogy, and I’ve been loving it. I’m currently waiting for the ebook to come available from my library so I can read it while at work because I don’t feel like lugging the thing around to and fro (ya know? the physical books get heavy!).

I did DNF the first book I chose, which was for Sleuth Street. The book was Through a Glass, Deadly by Sarah Atwell. I totally thought the book was boring and couldn’t get into it at all. I gave it a fair chance by reading about 30% of it.

The second square I landed on was Amour Avenue, which is a contemporary romance, I chose Scoring Wilder by R. S. Grey for this challenge. This is about an Olympic trainee and how she isn’t allowed to fall in love with the Coach (his name is Wilder, duh!) and all the things that ensue. The challenge is to read an age gap romance; this one is about someone who is 19 and the coach is 25.

The third square I landed on was Outer Space, which is sci-fi, I chose Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. This prompt is to read a sci-fi set on an alien planet or spaceship… I’m slightly modifying this to another world because I don’t really read sci-fi or own any.  I mean it has a different species and worlds, so it counts right?

The other thing I’m doing this year is trying to read 100 (yes, 100) books; so far I’ve gotten 6 under my belt, which also includes the DNF’s I had (I figure they count since I did read some of it then decide it wasn’t just for me). I figure life is too short to read bad books and reading should be for enjoyment, so IF I don’t make it to 100 books its no big deal; it will be fun seeing how much I can get read in the year compared to last year. I am reading a lot more Paranormal Romance and New Adult books, which I fly through, so I’m sure it’ll be easier for me to reach any sort of goal.

My other plan is to try and catch up on my Cassandra Clare books. I have so many that are unread because I stopped reading them to read other things *cough* Holly Black’s books tbh *cough*. I’ve only read a few of the books and I’m trying to read them in order, which is hard when you just wanna read them all (kind of like Pokemon, you gotta catch them all!). I’m also trying to read a Stephen King book bi-monthly (which is just funny because I’m sure it won’t last). I don’t know how well this is going to work, but I’m hoping to finish the one I’m currently reading from him ( The Institute ) so, hopefully I finish that first then maybe I’ll just choose one randomly or put all the titles in a cup and choose one that way? What do you think will be beneficial? I originally was going to read them in publication order, but that now seems too daunting of a task as I own most of his books.

Those are my current plans for the new decade and year. Let me know if you want me to do a complete video on this in the comments. You can always find me on social media and I will see you in my next post!
