Current Reads July 2016
Well, it’s that time of month again to see what I’ve been reading! I’m currently not even sticking to my TBR for this month. Although I am slowly reading the Starbucks book still, haven’t touched GoT and I returned the Stephen King book because I was losing interest and falling into a slight slump. (Link is here to my July TBR)
So, I’ve started to be on a Salem Witch Trials kick, so I borrowed a couple books from the library. I started, and am currently loving, The Witch’s Daughter by Paula Brackston. It’s half dairy style, half story style; it’s something different for me to be reading. I’ve tried to read this before, and gave in because I wasn’t into it. Now I’m about a third of the way through and am enjoying it and plan on reading the other three novels by Ms. Paula.
I’ve been slightly reading Vampires, Bones, and Treacle Scones by Kaitlyn Dunnett. Cozy Mysteries have been something I’m into lately. They’re easy reads and usually are quite fast paced for me. This one takes place in a haunted house and there’s a murder, now it’s up to Liss to find out who did it!
I also want to squeeze in How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather. I got this as an ARC and it came out this month, so I should probably get around to reading it and reviewing it! Sounds interesting, the catch line on the goodreads page is:
“For fans of Conversion and Mean Girls, comes a debut novel where the trials of high school start to feel like a modern day witch hunt for a teen with all the wrong connections to Salem’s past.“
That’s all I’m up to right now, but there is a small vacation I’ve given myself next weekend to catch up on stuff in my personal life and such; maybe I can squeeze in some reading then too. Have an amazing rest of July and see you in the next post!
