April Reads (2016)

So, my last reading post kind of failed. I didn’t stick to it other than finishing the first bind-up of Sweep. I’m hoping to stick to something this month, but I am going to the Festival of Books in a week and can’t keep any promises. I am going to be doing my first TBR (To Be Read) Jar pick this month! I will post more about what a TBR Jar is and things in my next blogging.

pushingthelimitThe first book I planned on picking up (I actually just placed my bookmark in it last night) is Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry. I’ve been told its pretty good, but the last time someone said that I didn’t finish the book. It’s a contemporary young adult novel, I’ve been needing to read one of these lately since I’ve been totally into paranormal stuff and fantasy. It’s pretty much a story of Echo Emerson, who has scars on her arms and is bullied at school until Noah Hutchins starts talking to her. I’m gathering that Noah is the school’s bad boy from the synopsis on GoodReads.

My other book I’m going to be reading is Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame. This was a wattpad story that got published into paperbacks in December 2014. Eden has to move in with her dad that lives in Santa Monica, CA. She then meets her step mom and three step-brothers. The eldest step-brother is Tyler, which she eventually (as it seems) to fall in love with. She starts hanging out with his friends and things escalate. I’m excited to read this when I finish the other book.

My first TBR Jar pick is….

Cleopatra: A Life by Stacey Schiff. I’m actually crazy excited to read this! I’ve always been intrigued by Cleopatra and pretty much anything that deals with Egypt. She waged wars, married brothers, and reshaped the contours of the world. After reading this I probably will watch the movie with the late, but still glamorous Elizabeth Taylor.

I also want to try to finish reading The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater on my Kindle and finish City of Glass by Cassandra Clare.

Have a happy weekend and have fun reading!
